Theme and Design
The game is set in a green Irish countryside full of four-leaf clovers, rainbows and pots of gold. The cheeky leprechaun stands next to the reels and reacts to what happens on screen. The symbols include Irish lucky charms and card ranks, and the cheerful folk music fits the theme perfectly. Irish luck is one of the most popular slot themes in the UK, and this game is a good example of the genre.
How to Play Wish Upon a Leprechaun
The game has 5 reels and 20 paylines. Wins pay from left to right with three or more matching symbols on a line. You choose your stake and spin. There are Wild symbols to help complete wins, and pot of gold Bonus symbols that trigger the main bonus. On top of that, the leprechaun can grant a random modifier on any spin.
Lucky Charms Bonus Modifiers
The modifiers have names such as Infectious Wilds, Colossal Spin, Spin Streak, Bonus Boost and They Think It’s All Clover. Each one changes the next spin or spins in a different way, for example by adding extra Wilds, landing oversized symbols or improving your chance of reaching the main bonus. You never know which modifier the leprechaun will choose, which adds an element of surprise to the base game. The game’s help screen explains each modifier in detail, so it is worth reading before you start.
These random modifiers make the base game much more lively than a standard 20-line slot.
The Pots O’ Luck Bonus
Three pot of gold Bonus symbols trigger the Pots O’ Luck bonus, which awards one of five bonus rounds:
- Chests O’ Plenty: a cash prize bonus.
- Nags T’ Riches: a horse race themed bonus.
- Clover Rollover Free Spins: a free spins round with its own clover feature.
- End O’ the Rainbow Free Spins: a second free spins mode.
- Big Money Bonus: a race in which the leprechaun tries to reach the top prize first.
Because you do not know which bonus you will get, every trigger brings some surprise. The two free spins modes and three other bonuses also mean the game stays varied over long sessions.
The Jackpot King Version
Wish Upon a Leprechaun is also available in a Jackpot King version. In this version, the game is linked to Blueprint’s Jackpot King progressive jackpot, which can be triggered on any spin at any stake. Part of every bet goes to the jackpot pool, so the RTP of the regular game is lower in the Jackpot King version. Check which version your casino offers.
RTP and Volatility
Blueprint offers Wish Upon a Leprechaun in several RTP settings, and the Jackpot King version has a different RTP again. Because casinos can choose the setting, you should always check the RTP in the game’s help screen before playing. The volatility is medium, with regular smaller wins and bigger payouts from the bonuses.

Blueprint is a UK-based studio, and its games are widely available at UK-licensed casinos.
Wish Upon a Leprechaun on Mobile
The game runs on iPhone, Android phones and tablets. The colourful graphics and bonus games work well on a small screen. See our guide to mobile slots in the UK.
Who Is Wish Upon a Leprechaun For?
This slot is a great fit for players who like variety. Between the random modifiers, five bonus rounds and the optional Jackpot King, there is always something that can happen. The medium volatility keeps the game accessible for most budgets. Players who prefer one clear feature and a high RTP may find it busy, and in that case a simple game such as Starburst is a better choice. Why Irish Slots Are So Popular in the UK
Irish luck is one of the most common themes in UK slot lobbies, and Blueprint has made several of the best-known examples. The theme fits naturally with slot features: pots of gold become bonus symbols, rainbows lead to prizes and four-leaf clovers bring luck. Many players also enjoy the cheerful music and humour that come with a leprechaun character. Wish Upon a Leprechaun stands out within the genre because of its large number of bonus options, which gives it more depth than many simpler Irish slots.
