How does the game work?
The game starts when a player places an ‘Ante’ wager, and the dealer gives out 5 cards to both themselves and the players. The dealer keeps all his cards down, except for one. - Royal Flush – You make up a Royal Flush with the Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten. Cards all have to be of the same suit.
- Straight Flush – Have a street of 5 cards of the same suit (Example: 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of Clubs). In the case that yourself and the dealer both have a Straight Flush, the person with the highest card wins.
- 4 of a Kind – You get 4 of a Kind when you get four cards of matching rank (Example: 7 of Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and Spades). Same rule: if you and the dealer both have 4 of a kind, the one with the highest rank wins.
- Full House – You make up a Full house with three cards of the same rank and two cards of a different but matching rank (Example: 8 of Clubs, Hearts and Diamonds and Jack of Spades and Hearts). Again, if both yourself and the dealer have Full House, the one with the highest rank wins.
- Flush – Five cards of the same suit (Example: Ace, 6, 5, 4, and Queen of Clubs). The Flush once again has the same rule. If both you and the dealer hold a Flush, the highest card wins.
- Straight – five numerically adjacent cards ignoring suit (Example: 7 of Spades, 8 of Spades, 9 of Clubs, 10 of Diamonds and Jack of Diamonds). Where both the player and dealer hold a Straight the hand with the highest card is considered the winner.
- 3 of a Kind – You make up 3 of a kind by getting three cards of the same rank combined with 2 unmatched cards (Example: 9 of Diamonds, Clubs, and Hearts with any two other cards that are not the 9 of Diamonds or a matching pair). The one with the highest rank wins.
- Two Pairs – Have two sets of two matching cards with one unmatched card (Example: 4 of Diamonds and Hearts, 8 Clubs and Diamonds, and a fifth card that doesn’t belong. Again, you compare here who has the highest value of cards. If the combination happens to be exactly the same, the unmatched card decides.
- Pair – Get two matching cards with three unmatched ones. (Example: 6 of Spades and Hearts and any three other cards).
- High Card – Basically you look at the value of your 5 unmatched cards. Which one has the highest value? If you have an Ace in your hand, you’re good. It can happen that both yourself and the dealer have an Ace, in that case, your bets are returned.
