Wagering requirements used to be the biggest catch in casino bonuses. You received a bonus, but had to stake it dozens of times before you could withdraw a penny. No wagering casinos turn that around: whatever you win with your bonus or free spins is paid out as real cash, ready to withdraw. In this guide we explain how no wagering bonuses work, how they compare with the new UK rules on wagering and which terms you should still check.

A wagering requirement is the number of times you must play through a bonus, or the winnings from free spins, before you can withdraw. With a 10x wagering requirement on £10 of free spin winnings, you must place £100 in bets first.
At a no wagering casino, that step disappears. Winnings from free spins or a bonus are added straight to your cash balance. You can withdraw them, or keep playing, whenever you like.
Types of no wagering offers
| Offer | How it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| No wagering free spins | Winnings from the spins are paid as cash | Value per spin, eligible games, maximum win |
| No wagering deposit bonus | Bonus funds can be withdrawn after play, or wins are paid as cash | How the bonus is credited and used |
| Cashback without wagering | A percentage of losses is returned as cash | Percentage, period and maximum cashback |
| Low wagering bonus | Wagering below the legal maximum, for example 1x to 5x | Exact multiplier and time limit |
No wagering free spins are by far the most common. They are a popular welcome offer, often combined with a minimum deposit and stake on slots.
No wagering and the UK 10x cap
Since 19 January 2026, the UK Gambling Commission limits wagering requirements to a maximum of 10x. Before that, requirements of 35x or more were common. The cap has made all UK bonuses fairer, but there is still a big difference between a bonus with 10x wagering and one with no wagering at all.
| No wagering | 10x wagering | |
|---|---|---|
| £20 free spin winnings | £20 withdrawable straight away | £200 in bets first |
| Risk of losing the bonus | None from wagering | Part or all of the winnings can be lost while wagering |
| Time needed | None | Depends on your stake per spin |
At the same time, the UK rules ban promotions that require you to play two or more types of gambling to unlock a bonus. For example, a casino may no longer offer free spins on condition that you also place a sports bet. Read more about the new rules in our article on how UK casino bonuses have changed.
Terms to check with no wagering offers
No wagering does not mean no terms at all. These are the conditions that matter most:
- Minimum deposit and stake: many offers require a deposit and a qualifying stake, often £10 on slots.
- Value per spin: free spins are usually worth 10p or 20p each. Twenty spins at 10p are worth less than ten spins at 50p.
- Eligible games: spins are usually tied to one specific slot.
- Maximum win: some offers cap the amount you can win from free spins.
- Expiry: free spins and bonus funds must often be used within 24 hours to a few days.
- Payment exclusions: some payment methods may not qualify for the offer.
Advantages and disadvantages of no wagering bonuses
| Advantages | Disadvantages |
|---|---|
| Winnings are real cash straight away | Bonuses are often smaller than wagering offers |
| Clear and easy to understand | Free spins are usually tied to one slot |
| No risk of losing winnings during wagering | Maximum win caps can apply |
| Good fit with fast withdrawals | Usually only for new customers |
Because there is no wagering, casinos usually offer smaller amounts. A no wagering offer of 50 free spins can still be worth more in practice than a much larger bonus with wagering, because you actually get to keep what you win.
How to get the most from a no wagering offer
Start by comparing the real value of each offer: multiply the number of spins by the value per spin. Then look at the slot the spins are for. A game with a higher RTP gives you a better average return on the spins. Finally, check the maximum win and the expiry time, and plan your session so you can use the offer in time.
Once the winnings are in your cash balance, decide whether to withdraw them or play on. Many players withdraw at least part of the winnings straight away, so they lock in the benefit of the offer. Casinos with fast payouts are especially attractive in combination with no wagering bonuses.
Who are no wagering bonuses for?
No wagering offers suit almost every type of player, but they are especially attractive if you play casually or with a small budget. You do not have to plan long sessions to clear a bonus, and you are never tempted to keep playing just to meet a requirement. They are also a good way to try a new casino: you see how the site works, how quickly it pays out and whether you like the games, while any winnings stay yours. Players who prefer larger bonuses and do not mind playing through them may still choose a bonus with low wagering instead, now that the maximum is 10x.
Other bonus types
No wagering offers are not the only good deals. Compare the full range of offers on our casino bonuses page, see the latest free spins bonuses, and check our welcome bonus overview. If you want to try a casino without any deposit, read our guide to no deposit bonuses.
No wagering versus no deposit bonuses
No wagering and no deposit offers are easy to confuse, but they are different things. A no deposit bonus gives you free spins or a small bonus without making a deposit, but it often comes with wagering and a low maximum win. A no wagering offer usually requires a deposit, but whatever you win is paid as cash. In practice, no wagering offers tend to give more realistic value, while no deposit offers are mainly a free way to try a casino. Some casinos combine both, with free spins on sign-up and no wagering on the winnings.
Tips for using bonuses responsibly
- Only deposit what you planned: do not deposit more just to unlock a bigger offer.
- Read the full terms: even a no wagering offer has rules on games, expiry and maximum wins.
- Do not chase the next bonus: casinos offer new promotions regularly, but you never have to take them.
- Set limits: use deposit limits and reality checks to stay in control.
