Starlight Princess is Pragmatic Play’s anime-inspired answer to its own hit Gates of Olympus. Instead of Zeus, a magical princess floats beside the reels and drops random multipliers of up to 500x during tumbling wins. With pay anywhere wins, high volatility and a 5,000x maximum win, it is built for players who enjoy dramatic swings. In this Starlight Princess slot review we explain how the game works, how the multipliers and free spins behave and what to expect when you play.

Theme and Design
The game is set in a starry sky with a cute anime-style princess beside the grid. Coloured gems make up the lower-paying symbols, while magical items such as hearts and stars pay more. The art style is softer and more colourful than most Pragmatic Play slots, but the gameplay is very similar to Gates of Olympus.
How to Play Starlight Princess
Starlight Princess uses a pay anywhere system. There are no paylines: you win when eight or more matching symbols land anywhere on the 6×5 grid. The more matching symbols, the bigger the win.
After every win, the tumble feature removes the winning symbols and new symbols fall into place. Tumbles continue as long as new wins form, so one spin can produce several wins in a row.
Random Multipliers
At any time during a spin or tumble, the princess can drop a multiplier symbol onto the grid. Multipliers range from 2x to 500x. When the tumble sequence ends, all multipliers on the screen are added together and the total is applied to the win of that sequence. A single 500x multiplier can turn a modest win into a very big one, but most multipliers are small.
Free Spins
Four or more scatter symbols anywhere on the grid trigger 15 free spins. During the free spins, every multiplier that lands is added to a total multiplier that stays for the rest of the round. Each new multiplier increases the total, and the total applies to every winning tumble sequence that contains a multiplier. Three or more scatters during the feature award five extra free spins.
How the Free Spins Multiplier Builds
The total multiplier is what makes the free spins in Starlight Princess so powerful. Suppose a 5x multiplier lands on your first winning free spin: the total becomes 5x and that win is multiplied by five. Later, a 10x lands on another winning tumble: the total rises to 15x and applies to that win. Every new multiplier adds to the total, so a round that collects several early multipliers can end with a total of 50x or more. The catch is that the total only applies to tumble sequences that include a new multiplier, so a high total does not boost every small win. Many free spins rounds finish with a modest total, and that is normal for a high volatility slot.
Ante Bet
Starlight Princess offers an ante bet option. It raises your stake by 25% and doubles your chance of triggering the free spins naturally. It does not change the payouts, so it suits players who want more frequent features and are happy to pay more per spin. Remember that the UK £5 stake limit applies to the total stake including the ante.
RTP, Volatility and Maximum Win
The default RTP is 96.50%, although Pragmatic Play also supplies lower versions to casinos. The volatility is high: many spins pay little or nothing, and the big wins come from free spins with a growing total multiplier. The maximum win is 5,000x your stake.

Other Versions
Pragmatic Play has released follow-ups such as Starlight Princess 1000, with multipliers of up to 1,000x and a bigger maximum win, and Starlight Christmas, a festive version. These versions are even more volatile than the original.
Playing Starlight Princess in the UK
Starlight Princess is widely available at UK casinos with Pragmatic Play games. In the UK, the bonus buy feature is not available, stakes are capped at £5 per spin (£2 for players aged 18 to 24) and autoplay is not allowed. These rules apply to every UK licensed casino.
Starlight Princess on Mobile
The game works well on phones and tablets in portrait and landscape mode. The tumbles and multiplier animations are smooth, and the pay anywhere system means you do not have to follow paylines on a small screen.
Who Is Starlight Princess For?
Starlight Princess suits players who enjoy high volatility slots and big multiplier moments. It is less suitable for small budgets, because long dry spells are common. If you prefer a gentler game, try a medium volatility slot such as Fire Joker. Fans of tumbling candy slots should also look at Sugar Rush and Sweet Bonanza.
Tips for Playing Starlight Princess
- Set a strict budget. High volatility means big swings in both directions.
- Think about the ante bet. It increases your stake by 25% but doubles the free spins chance.
- Check the RTP version. Look for 96.50% where possible.
- Play at a stake that gives you enough spins. Free spins may take a while to land.
- Try the demo first. It shows how rare the big multipliers really are.
Is Starlight Princess Worth Playing?
For fans of high volatility slots, yes. Starlight Princess offers the same proven engine as Gates of Olympus with a lighter, more colourful theme, a fair 96.50% RTP and real big win potential through the growing free spins multiplier. It is not a game for steady returns or small bankrolls, and the base game can be quiet for long stretches. If you enjoy the build-up of a big feature and accept the risk that comes with it, it is one of the most entertaining multiplier slots in UK casinos.
